Contest Rules & Dates:

All applicants must post at least one photo of their abominable AC or horrendous heat pump (condenser, or outside unit), and one photo of their furnace (in the comments section of the AC photo), to the comments section of our original Facebook post. Applicants must also like Kamloops Heating & Air Conditioning’s Facebook page and share our post for the Abominable AC (& Heat Pump) Contest. If you did not complete these three steps you will not be considered for the contest.

** This contest is for the replacement of a central air conditioner or heat pump, with a new Lennox high efficiency heat pump. Portable air conditioners, window air conditioners, PTAC (packaged terminal air conditioners, through the wall air conditioners, and mini splits are not eligible. **

Contest opens March 20, 2024.
Entries must be in by April 30, 2024.
Three finalists will be selected on May 3, 2024.
Kamloops Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. employees will each cast their vote for the most Abominable AC, or Horrible Heat Pump, on May 6, 2024. The entry with the most selections will be selected as the winner.
One of our technicians will attend the residence between May 7, 2024, and May 10, 2024, to verify that the central air conditioner meets all qualifications.
The winner will be announced on our Facebook page on May 13, 2024.

 

The Abominable AC Contest guidelines are as follows:

• The winner must reside within 150 km of Kamloops, BC.

• The replacement heat pumps estimated retail value shall not exceed $7,000. In the event the winner would like to upgrade the installation to a higher efficiency unit, the credit of the replacement unit will be applied.

• Standard installation of the new heat pump shall include the replacement of the pad, coil, condenser, drainage, and any additional wiring required.

• The existing central air conditioning system (that is entered in the contest) must be installed and fully operational at the time of replacement.

• The installation does not include furnace components.

• Kamloops Heating & Air Conditioning will not be responsible for any major code upgrades required for the installation of the new air conditioner.

• Any electrical code upgrades in the home will need to be done by a licensed electrician at the expense of the homeowner.

• The new Lennox High Efficiency Heat Pump comes with a 10-year manufacturer parts warranty and a 10-year labour warranty.

• The winner agrees to provide a testimonial of the experience with a photograph of the equipment installed.
